Eyebrow tattoo removal techniques — what should you expect?

The main routes are laser removal, non-laser removal, and simply covering the old work with more pigment. They differ in how they treat pigment: laser shatters it into the body, non-laser removal lifts it up and out through the skin, and cover-ups add to what's already there.

The three routes, honestly compared
Laser removal breaks pigment into fragments the body clears internally. It can be effective, but brow pigments are unpredictable under laser — some colours darken before they lighten, warm pigments can oxidise, and the hair follicles sit in the treatment area. Non-laser removal works in the opposite direction: rather than targeting pigment with light, the treated area is prepared so unwanted pigment lifts up and out through the surface as the skin heals, round by round. This is the direction the Aileen Beauty Method takes, using the studio's own non-laser removal solution rather than the saline products common elsewhere in the industry. Cover-ups add fresh pigment over old; sometimes appropriate, but each layer makes any future removal longer.
Note the distinction from hair removal: plucking, waxing and threading shape the natural hair and have nothing to do with tattooed pigment. If the colour is in the skin, only pigment removal moves it.
What a session feels like, and aftercare
A session begins with topical numbing, the extraction itself is brief, and the area is dressed with aftercare instructions. Expect the brows to look darker and feel tender for the first days as the lifted pigment scabs and sheds — this is the mechanism working, not a complication.
Aftercare is simple but strict: keep the area dry while it heals, skip makeup on the brows, and avoid sun, hot showers and swimming in the first days. Then the skin rests 4–6 weeks before the next round — the healing window is where much of the lightening actually happens.
